✨It’s like a reward ✨ Fueling my 22 mile long run with NERDS Gummy Clusters!! Today’s Training: 22 miles “easy” The goal was to get more time on feet! Great day and great workout to practice with some new fueling strategies! Hahah What I loved: 1. Felt like a reward/something to look forward to every ~4 miles. 2. I love NERDS Gummy Clusters in general so FUN. 3. I felt like I had a ton of energy even though it was such a long run! 4. Easy to track with the smaller packs!! What I didn’t love: 1. I had a hard time eating/chewing. (Me problem) So I stopped often to eat! With practice I’m sure this would be easier. 2. I want to eat more candy now that my run is over but I’m almost out of NERDS Gummy Clusters now….😅😅😅😅 I did take SaltStick to stay on top of my electrolytes!! And Immodium because I take it before every long long run!!! 🫠 Are you are NERDS Gummy Cluster fan? What is your favorite non-gel running fuel?? More or less gels than you thought for a 20 mile run workout?! ⛽️ I experimented with taking them more frequently and my body responded quite well!! My stomach has been well trained for this for a few years now, but I remember when I first started it would usually get upset. Workout details in my last post! Note: typically eat more in the AM, but was just not feeling oatmeal. The rest of the day I will be working from bed, taking a nap, and eating LOTS of food to recover!! 💤 26 days until Tunnel Vision Marathon!! I am so excited and after this workout/fuel practice I feel READY!!!
