I think this is even more disappointing than the other examples I’ve talked about because my para social relationship with Kesha tells me that she thinks about things critically, especially when it comes to art and the industry. So to see her make this kind of call is really weird. It’s just interesting to me that Mattel would be funneling so much energy and resources into a line like the 12 days of Christmas Barbie when they have a legacy line of holiday Barbies that have extended throughout decades and literally crossed into a new century. like OK production prices have gone up, that’s fine. Replying to @Aine 🍉 there are consequences to taking the easy route in terms of public perception. Bratz has always been considered the edgier version of Barbie, whether or not MGA really wants it to be. For them to be buying into the same anti-artist big business BS that Mattel is right now is very telling… However, despite not making any statement about it I don’t think that there’s enough evidence in their recent posts to support the assertion that they continued using AI. Like I said in my video I think it’s likely that the hand was the only thing AI generated, which is still disappointing, but definitely not as bad as designing whole boxes like Mattel is doing. guilty deleting a post after you get caught is slightly less bad than fully embracing the concept of generative AI. just also shady. ##greenscreen##slop##ai##dolltok##bratz##barbietok

I guess I’m just frustrated that Mattel is constantly putting their worst foot forward towards everyday consumers and collectors who aren’t drowning in cash.
