First log on the new @Turbosawmill !! Along the top Jake spent time taking small sections off and making the final adjustments to blade based on how the saw was cutting and the marks it was making in the log and once that was done the saw could do what it does best which is make clean, accurate and straight dimensional lumber and beams! We did a bunch of 2x8’s and 2x12’s and some 4x4’s at the end from the very bottom of the log but I forgot to film that part but you can see them on the truck. This model will cut anything up to 12x12” beams and if you do a double horizontal cut you can cut up to 11x24”. #sawmill #woodworking

#ad One way to cut clean and accurate mortises is to grab the @Festool Canada OF 1400 router with the clip in bushing and some @Titebond Products Instant Bond glue and some small pieces of wood. Temporarily glue the wood on as a bushing guide and use the router to cut out all the material for the mortise and then pop the small wood pieces off, quickly sand off the glue and chisel out the corners 👍

#ad Shifted the @Southland Trailer Corp. gooseneck inside the shop with the JCB teleskid so I could install an Erickson winch on the front of the trailer to make it easy to pull ok old vehicles or tractors or whatever else needs to get pulled on 👍. Really nice that @southlandtrailers already had a place ready for winches and the holes already pre drilled, I was able to put the bolts in and tighten them all down with the @Einhell Canada impact gun. I will probably mount the battery on the cabinet but for now wanted to just hook it up and make sure it all worked #trailer #construction #build #maker

Got a call from Trimflow about a big tree that was coming down because the top section had blown off on a wind storm and knocked out a power line and two power poles so I hooked onto the @Southland Trailer Corp. gooseneck and loaded up the @JCB teleskid and went and picked it up and brought it back to the shop and rolled that big boy off with the old forklift 👍 #woodworking #trailer #work

Festool tool bench number two getting moved into position. Still mostly figuring it out as I go, I knew that I wanted each tool to have a certain amount of elbow room and room for the most used accessories to be in the area of the tools they go with so I’m starting to spread them out and test where each tool should go and try anticipate spacing for accessories. Right now I think the second shelf will be mainly for the accessories of the tools on the bottom level and then the top will be reserved for the bigger tools that don’t have many accessories but I still will probably change my mind. I will also put a special perfo backing behind the shelves to hang and organize all the accessories on and still need to put a finish on the whole thing and I’m thinking some metal accents and some signage and the lighting I have planned. #construction #workshop #woodwork #festool @Festool Canada
